Artist Biography Each piece I create intends to highlight and embrace its intrinsic characteristics of texture, reflective qualities and color. I often intertwine and embellish the piece with brilliantly colored glass in a composition that expresses my love of texture, color and illumination. Color provides the emotional text of my work. The end result may be in the form of fused-glass jewelry, a free form sculpture, a reinvented window or a rustic birdhouse.
I have studied at the Corning Studio, NY, Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, Truro, Glass Workshop at Samuel Day Gallery, Barnstable and Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, MA. I completed an apprenticeship with Stephen Donnelly, the renowned glass artist of Tiffany Studio, Provincetown, MA. My one of a kind pieces have been exhibited at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Fine Arts Work Center, and the School House Gallery, all of Provincetown, MA and The Gallery 142, Deland, FL. My art is sold at The Dune Shack of Provincetown; Jules Besch, Wellfleet; Tree’s Gallery, Orleans, Edgartown Scrimshaw Gallery, Main St. Edgartown, MA and Guild of Fine Glass Artists, Truro Tradesman's Park, Route 6 North Truro, MA. My art is also sold to private collectors nationally and internationally. I am often surprised at the memories evoked in myself when I complete a new piece of art. Those who collect my art have said “the artist has taken me on a life’s journey through her found treasures.” |
